The Illustration Department

I had the opportunity to take an illustration course from one of my favorite Art Directors, Giuseppe Castellano, through The Illustration Department. Giuseppe is a wonderful teacher who gave me invaluable guidance in my art. He really cares about his students and does all he can to help bring out the best in them. Below is my testimonial and a link to the Illustration Department, you really must check them out. Thank you Giuseppe for being outstanding!

I can not thank Giuseppe enough for offering his time and vast knowledge in helping other artists through his courses. I found it to be that step I needed to dig deep and discover ME and what it is I truly want to express with my art. Giuseppe is honest and tells you straight up but is also very kind. I had such a great time while also learning. If you want some amazing direction from an even more amazing teacher, Giuseppe’s courses will give you that—plus so much more!

A New Year

I think this past year was mostly a year of reflection for me. I didn’t get quite as much accomplished in the studio as I probably should have. I think sometimes we need that quite time to stop and reflect, look at where you’ve been and where you’re going. I’m hoping this year will be a year of productivity through exploring, trying new things in the studio and just having fun creatively.

You can’t use up creativity. The more you use, the more you have.  ~Maya Angelou~

Spring cleaning

With spring cleaning comes some much needed website spring cleaning too. I’m in the process of getting everything watermarked, consistently resized and adding an accumulation of new art. I think I may have the majority of it done but that is the reason why it isn’t all consistent yet. Always a work in progress!

Susanna Leonard Hill’s 5th Annual HALLOWEENSIE CONTEST!

This is my first year entering this contest and I have to say it was so much fun! Here is the link for the contest and the rules are….The Contest: write a 100 word Halloween story appropriate for children (title not included in the 100 words), using the words costume, dark, and haunt. Here is the link to her blog if you’d like to read more contest entries.

Here is my entry of 58 words. And of course I had to do a fun illustration to go with it!
